Prior to forming Scott & Thompson Accounting, Kameri most recently worked as a small business consultant at a local tax firm. She began her accounting career in public accounting , then went on to gain experience in non-profit as a finance and HR manager. She has also worked as a contracted private accountant to small business owners within multiple industries, such as healthcare, transportation, restaurant, real estate, pharmacy, and construction.
Kameri has earned 3 Bachelor's degrees in Accounting, Finance, and Business Administration, as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University of New Orleans. Go Privateers!
Keionne Thompson is an alumna of University of New Orleans earning a bachelor's degree in Accounting. With over 15 years of accounting experience, she has an extensive repertoire o assisting businesses with their accounting needs. Throughout her career, she has maintained high performance standards which has allowed her to obtain essential skills in sectors such as transportation, hotel and hospitality, banking, and various service industries. She has successfully maintained multiple grants, assuring accurate reporting and tax preparation in each sector.
Kameri and Keionne met in a tax class at University of New Orleans. They formed a study group together, which later led to re-establishing a student chapter of a national accounting organization for minority students on campus called National Association of Black Accountants (NABA).
They achieved success with the organization and developed essential skills through NABA that enabled them to become competent and professional accountants. Through the formation of NABA, Kameri and Keionne realized that they shared a passion for serving their community through the dissemination of education and information gained from various resources.
